Mandate

• To collaborate with government agencies, research institutions, and other agencies as well as civil society organizations and to undertake, encourage and sponsor studies and research related to wildlife conservation, ecological restoration and biological security of the state of Odisha.
• To work for and promote stability of the eco-systems through the protection and restoration of biological diversity, including the diversity of species, age diversity, genetic variability as well as that of structural composition.
• To help in the creation of a conducive legal and regulatory environment and a coherent perspective on forest & water related land-use policy, through the dissemination of knowledge and information.
• To work with & through a range of democratic village institutions, their federal bodies and civil society organizations to promote initiative that are ecologically sustainable, socially and economically equitable.
• To work towards the ecological restoration and conservation of natural reso ensure the ecological integrity of all such efforts by working as far as possible, and with all the interrelated communities within it.
• To create an interactive movement at the state level for environmental and social justice and provide a forum for concerned citizens, NGOs and activists working for the survival of living beings, sustainable development and social change.
• To provide training to and sharpen the skills of young advocates, social workers, Media peoples and activists in order to strengthen environmental law and policy.
